Chicago Fire into sixth US Open Cup final

Chicago Fire have moved into the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup final for the sixth time following a 2-1 win over Richmond Kickers.

Sebastian Grazzini (penalty) and Dominic Oduro set up the win for the Fire at Toyota Park with goals on the half-hour and hour marks respectively before the visiting USL Professional Division side gave themselves hope with a 68th minute goal through Yomby William.

But the Kickers could not reduce the deficit further and their remarkable run in the cup ended at the semi-final stage with Chicago looking to add to their 1998, 2000, 2003 and 2006 triumphs when they meet cup holders Seattle Sounders on October 4.
