Chicago Fire signs Zimbabwean striker Dube

Chicago Fire have signed former New England Revolution striker Kheli Dube.

The 28-year old Zimbabwean was left unprotected by the Revs ahead of the 2012 MLS Re-Entry Draft where he was selected by the Fire with whom he has now agreed a deal.

"Kheli has been an offensive threat since he came into the league," said Fire head coach Frank Klopas.

"He's a gritty, hard working striker that plays for the badge. Since joining us in preseason Kheli has shown his desire to be part of our club."

Dube becomes the Fire's fifth off-season signing following four years with New England where he score 15 goals in 76 MLS appearances.
