Chicago Fire have allowed Mexico star Cuauhtemoc Blanco return home on-loan to Santos Laguna. Blanco, 35, will replace injured Ecuadorean Christian Benitez and said he was "happy about the invitation," which is not expected to extend beyond Santos Laguna's playoff run.
Ecuador international striker Benitez is the centre of a transfer battle between Wigan Athletic and TSG Hoffenheim.
