Chicago Fire send Gentile to Charlotte Eagles

Chicago Fire have sent Giuseppe Gentile to USL PRO club Charlotte Eagles.

The 21-year old forward will spend the 2014 season with the Eagles, however, the Fire will have the option to recall him whenever they want.

Gentile joined Chicago via the MLS Waiver Draft on January 24 after starring with UNC Charlotte over three seasons which yielded the Conference USA Championship and earned him the Tournament MVP, All-Conference First Team and First Team All-Region honors.

"This loan gives Giuseppe an opportunity to continue to develop and play in meaningful matches," said Chicago Fire Head Coach and Director of Soccer Frank Yallop.

"We'll continue to monitor Giuseppe's progress while he is in Charlotte, and will look to bring him back to Chicago throughout the year to participate in Open Cup and MLS Reserve League matches."
