Chicago Fire's Jumper escapes serious injury in car accident

Chicago Fire defender Hunter Jumper was involved in a car accident in Virginia earlier this week.

The 24-year old was on his way to train with the University of Virginia when he hit a spot of black ice which forced his car to flip before hitting a rock.

Despite the severity of the crash, Jumper escaped with only minor cuts and bruises which prompted the following statement on the Fire's official website.

"I already feel like the accident has changed my life," he said. "I'm so thankful to be alive and to have my family."
