Chicago Fire's Castllo linked with Aris Thessaloniki

Chicago Fire Designated Player Nery Castillo is being heavily linked with a move to Greek Super League outfit FC Aris Thessaloniki.

The 26-year old Mexico international made his name in Greece in a seven-year stint with Olympiakos and reports suggest he is set for a return to the league where it all started.

Greece's Sport 24 and Mexico's Sport Net report that the move from the Fire to Aris is on the cards and Castillo himself indicated it was happening, making the following comments on his Facebook page.

'Maybe some are confused with some remarks of my brother (and agent) Alex Castillo, I am in Greece for those and we are in negotiations with a club, this club is in Europe, and hopefully everything goes well and can make the transfer.

'For the moment that is all that my brother and I can tell, we will keep you informed through my Facebook or him, thank you very much for your support.'

Castillo made just eight appearances for the Fire in the 2010 MLs season after joining on loan from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk.
