Chicago Fire owner Andrew Hauptman is determined to bring some new faces to the club in the next couple of weeks.
The Fire currently sit second bottom on the Eastern Conference with seven points from eight games and Hauptman wants to see a change in personnel already to lift the club out of the doldrums.
"I'm hoping that there will be signings before this window closes," he said.
"That's my hope and that's what I've tasked the technical staff to shoot for. We also have to be realistic about what the options are out there and what are the kinds of players that are really going to have an impact."
He added: "It's not easy and I wouldn't say we've been particularly good at it to date. But we're trying to take all of the steps necessary to do better."
