Chicago Fire not interested in selling Hull target Maloney

MLS side Chicago Fire are not looking to sell Shaun Maloney.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce is currently looking to strengthen his attacking options and it has emerged that the 54-year old had launched a bid for Scotland international Maloney.

However, it can now be revealed that Bruce has been dealt a major setback in his hopes of signing the former Wigan Athletic star.

Orrin Schwarz, a correspondent for the Chicago's Daily Herald newspaper, took to Twitter to reveal that the MLS side have rebuffed the Tigers in their approach for Maloney and added that Fire are not looking to sell their prized asset.

He wrote: "Club source confirms #cf97 has rejected Hull City offer for Shaun Maloney. Fire does not want to move him now. #MLS"
