Chicago Fire haven't given up on keeping hold of Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg.

The Swedish midfielder has confirmed he is considering a return to Europe.

But the Fire is attempting to keep Ljungberg. In 15 games with Chicago, including 13 starts, Ljungberg had two goals and seven assists.

"Ljungberg is a talented player who performed well for the Fire over the course of his time with the club," a team official told the Chicago Tribune. "We remain in discussions with his agent about 2011, while he explores all of his options."
