Chicago Fire are being linked with a move for Germany international Arne Friedrich.
The 32-year old centre-back is currently a free agent after being released by VfL Wolfsburg because of a long-term injury and Fire head coach Frank Klopas admits the club is interested in acquiring his services.
"We've looked at different players. We definitely have one player we're looking into at this point. Hopefully we can wrap this up pretty quickly.""That's someone that we are looking into, that we do have some interest in," Klopas said. "That's all I can say.
Friedrich, who has represented Germany over 80 times, kicked off his career with SC Verl in 1999 before moving on to Arminia Bielefeld a year later. He then spent about eight years with Hertha Berlin ahead of his 2010 shift to Wolsfburg.
