Chris Rolfe has been named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 21 of the 2013 season.
The 30-year old forward scored two goals as the Fire comfortably accounted for DC United 4-1 at Toyota Park.
Rolfe opened the scoring in just the second minute when he deftly sent a brilliant Joel Lindpere cross from the left wing past DC keeper Joe Willis with a side-footed volley just under ten minutes before Lindpere double the advantage.
Former Aalborg man Rolfe then added a third for Chicago on the stroke of half-time when he poked past Willis after controlling Lindpere's through ball outside the area.
The Fire managed a fourth via Mike Magee from the penalty spot in the 56th minute before DC grabbed a consolation goal courtesy of Luis Silva just before the hour-mark.
Rolfe became the first Chicago Fire player of the 2013 MLS season to receive the weekly award.
