Chicago Fire head coach Frank Klopas has confirmed that the club has held talks with Chelsea star Didier Drogba.
The 33-year old, currently on international duty with the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations, recently rejected a one-year contract offer from the Blues which has put plenty of focus on his future at the London club.
Speculation of a potential move to Major League Soccer has popped up with the Fire moving quickly to discuss a possible deal for the powerful and skillful Drogba.
"There's talks, but would he really come and what would it take?""Drogba? Of course, yes," Klopas told Goal.com about his club's interest in Drogba.
Klopas added that rumours about Drogba being close to signing were very premature but did admit he would love a player of Drogba's quality in his Fire squad.
"Would I want a player like Drogba on my team? For sure.""It's newspapers putting stuff out there," Klopas added. "What do you want me to tell you? I just want to focus on my team now.
