Chicago Fire confirm Rolfe's Denmark move

Chicago Fire have confirmed the move of forward Chris Rolfe to Danish club AaB Aalborg.

The 26-year old will join the Danish Super League team in January when the next transfer window opens.

Until then, he will remain with the Fire, who despite being disappointed in losing him, understand his decision to move on.

"We knew he was going to have some great opportunities," Fire technical director Frank Klopas said.

"He is a talented player. I know he wants to have that experience. He's at the age where if he doesn't make this move now, he might not have this opportunity again.

"This is a good time for this, because we are in a good position for the playoffs, and I know Chris wants to win a championship with us," Klopas added.

"He has been with us a long time. He was in our PDL program. We want what is best for him, and if he didn't make the move now, we don't want him to regret it."
