Chicago Fire coach search only in early stages

Despite reports suggesting otherwise, the search for Chicago Fire's new head coach is only in early stages according to a source close to the club.

Reports coming out of Soccer America said that the Fire had almost found their replacement for Denis Hamlett with former DC United coach Tom Soehn and current Chivas USA Jesse Marsch named as the final two.

But a source has said that the search is "not that far along" and just past "the first round of the interview process".

Former Kansas City Wizards coach Curt Onalfo, current Fire assistant Mike Jeffries and former Fire player Chris Armas have also been linked with the job.
