Chicago Fire head coach Dennis Hamlett believes his players knew what to do in their match against the Kansas City Wizards that ended in a 2-2 draw.
Conceding two late goals at the weekend cost Chicago the win and Hamlett puts it down to trying to kill the game.
Speaking to reporters after the game Hamlett said, "We were pushing to get that third goal. Credit goes to [Kevin] Hartman on three great saves. For 75 minutes we had control of the match. And then we lost it.
"In the first half our mentality was to come out being on the same page. We played unselfish soccer," Hamlett continued.
"Late in the game we gave away two goals. The guys went in to the game with the idea of what they were supposed to do. We just didn't do it."
