Chicago Fire have announced that they have acquired Benji Joya on a one-year loan deal from Santos Laguna.
The USA U20 international has landed at the Fire via a weighted lottery with his temporary move to Chicago having the option of a permanent transfer.
"Benji is a talented, young player," said Fire head coach and director of soccer Frank Yallop in a club statement.
"He has international experience and will be a great addition as we continue to build and strengthen our squad."
California-born Joya has been with Santos since 2011 and has made four Liga MX appearances for a total of seven senior outings with the Coahuila outfit.
