Stoke City have handed trials to Chicago Fire attacker David Accam.

The Mail on Sunday says the 25-year-old has just completed a season with Chicago Fire in MLS, where he was their top scorer with 10 goals in 24 league games.

Accam, who can play as a winger or striker, is understood to have done well during his trial but any potential loan or permanent deal would be complicated by the need for a work permit and visa.

Tribalfootball.com can reveal Manchester United considered Accam while the Ghanaian was playing in Sweden with Östersund before moving onto Helsingborg.

Accam left Sweden for MLS earlier this year.
