Polish left-back Krzysztof Krol will leave MLS club Chicago Fire to return to his homeland.

The 23-year old joined the Fire on loan from Jagiellonia Bialystok in April but after 17 league appearances will go back home as he strives to push for Poland national team selection for the Euro2012 Championships.

“My ultimate goal is to play for the Polish National team in the next European Championship tournament which will take place in my home country of Poland in June 2012,” Krol said in an interview on soccerchris.com.

“My one year here in Chicago, was a very good experience and I loved it here, but is clear to me that if I want to play for the Polish national team, I will have to play in Europe.”

Krol revealed he still had an agreement with Jagiellonia and would definitely return there before assessing his options.

“I was in Chicago on loan from Polish club Jagiellonia Bialystok, and I still have a contract with them,” he added.

“A decision will have to be made with Jagiellonia about where I am going to play next season, but my preference at this moment is definitely Europe. I want to be in close range to Poland.”
