James Chester is amazed by Hull City's deal for Palermo striker Abel Hernandez.
Chester, 25, who signed from Manchester United three years ago, reckons the signing of Hernandez sends a message about where the club are.
He said: "I could never have imagined the club spending that amount of money on a single player.
"I've been here since 2011 and the turnaround in that time has been frightening. It's nice to be a part of.
"The owners have spent a lot of money this summer and have backed the manager.
"We have to get our focus back on the Premier League after the European disappointment - but the squad we have now is more than capable of staying up and competing.
"The aim now is to stay up and keep improving to become a sustainable Premier League club."
