Steve Cherundolo will sign a contract extension with German club Hannover 96.
The 31-year old USA international right-back has agreed to a two-year deal with the club he joined in 1999.
His contract was due to expire at the end of the month and with rivals FC Cologne vying for his services, Cherundolo's time at the club may have been up but he has committed himself to the cause for at least the next two seasons.
The deal that Cherundolo will sign when he returns from World Cup duty will hold the option of a third year.
