Chelsea's Terry: I will play this season

Chelsea defender John Terry has rubbished suggestions that he will not play again this term and is confident he could be back in action by the end of January.

Terry broke three bones in his foot against Arsenal in December and was immediately ruled out for six weeks.

"It is frustrating when you hear that, you don't know where they come from," Terry told ChelseaTV of the speculation which suggested he had suffered a setback. "It is just disappointing when you are trying hard to get back fit."

Chelsea have kept themselves in the title hunt in Terry's absence and he is hopeful of handing a boost to the side in the next few weeks.

"I have got rid of the crutches and am in the big boot," he added. "It is not the best looking, but it is there to support the ankle and the foot.

"The bones have all healed, but it is just to support it for another week. I hope it will come off on Monday.

"I am doing rehab in the pool, a lot of swimming and light jogging and fingers crossed I will be about two or three weeks."
