Shaun Wright-Phillips admits Chelsea teammate Joe Cole is his idol.
"To have someone who has been through it is a plus. Me and Coley are really good friends.
"We enjoy each other's company and there is a tight bond there."
Wright-Phillips is looking forward to battling with former England skipper David Beckham to play on the right side of midfield.
He said: "Becks is a quality player and has been an important part of the England team for a long time. He has always done well.
"I have to keep working hard and playing well."
