Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has welcomed the appointment of Guus Hiddink as Luiz Felipe Scolari's replacement.
"He's obviously got a top name and worked with top players," Lampard told Sky Sports News. "He taken teams in big competition a long way that you might not expect to go as far as they did technically. He made them play very well.
"I don't know much about him, but I look forward to working with him."
Scolari failed to last a season after replacing Avram Grant, but Lampard, who played in England's 2-0 loss to Spain on Wednesday, had nothing but positive words for the Brazilian.
"I had a great relationship with Scolari for six to seven months, or whatever it was," he continued.
"When he came to the club it was a difficult summer for me and straight away he made me feel comfortable. "He's a very, very good man and I wish him all the best in the future."
