Frank Lampard has returned to training following the death of his mother last week, and is expected to confirm his availability for the Champions League semi-final, second-leg against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Chelsea have not put the midfielder under any pressure to play at Stamford Bridge and will leave the decision solely up to him, but it is thought he wants to take some part in the match.
Lampard missed the 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Saturday while on compassionate leave after the death of Pat Lampard from pneumonia on Thursday.
He trained on his own on Sunday and is expected to rejoin the squad today.
