Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard says Fabio Capello is England's missing link.
Lamps reckons boss Capello has given them the belief they can end England's 44-year wait to be champions again.
He said: "We've come a very long way in the two years under Fabio Capello. Our confidence was rock-bottom after not qualifying for Euro 2008. We were on the floor almost and we picked ourselves up - credit to the manager and players.
"We turned it around and qualified in style. And now it's time to get the extra 10 per cent and go to the World Cup and have a right go at it. Looking back, I think this was always a team with very good individuals but maybe they didn't play collectively as well.
"The manager brought discipline and organisation to our way of playing on and off the pitch. It was what was needed. The only thing that is needed now is to continue and get even better.
"It's the beauty of the manager and the beauty of the team and how far we've come.
"It's the biggest tournament out there for your country, and we've given ourselves a great chance."
