Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien insists there's no need for Arsenal transfer rumours to spark after he was photographed in a Gunners shirt.

Ghana star Essien told Chelsea's website: "The Arsenal shirt is one I swapped with Adebayor after the Arsenal v Chelsea game last season.

"I gave it to my friend Eric. When we were in Ghana last summer with the Right to Play charity, this girl came and asked me to do a photo - I didn't want to do the photo with a fan bare-chested so asked Eric to borrow the shirt. I didn't think the girl would sell the photo to the papers!

"The Chelsea fans know how much I love being a Chelsea player, so no need for any rumours to start about me going to Arsenal. I'm much happier wearing the Chelsea blue."
