Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has only good memories of his time at Manchester United.

Essien had trials at Old Trafford as a 16 year-old and said: "I saw everybody: Beckham, Scholes, Giggs. Alex Ferguson as well."

But work permit problems forced him to step into European football via Bastia in the French league.
