Chelsea's Cork named England U19 captain

Chelsea defender Jack Cork has been named captain for England's U19 European Championship campaign.

Cork replaces Aston Villa centre-half Ciaran Clark, who was forced to pull out of the squad yesterday due to injury.

England coach Brian Eastick said: "He's already got a lot of experience.

"I know Scunthorpe didn't do too well in the Championship last season but his performances were very, very good. His time there would have benefited him greatly. We have seen him mature as a player and a man over the last few years and he has earned his chance."
