Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole insists he "really enjoyed" his return to Arsenal last month.

"I really, really enjoyed it," he told Chelsea's website. "Last year they said I didn't go there because I was scared or something stupid like that. So it was good to actually go there and get it out the way.

"It was of course disappointing about the result but Arsenal have got to come to us and hopefully we can win some points back then."

While the result didn't please Ashley, he was satisfied that common sense prevailed in the aftermath when the authorities ignored press claims that he had made an inappropriate gesture to the crowd.

"I didn't stick my fingers up. The way the picture was taken, it may have looked like that, but I didn't so it was sensible that nothing happened."
