Ashley Cole could face three months on the sidelines after injuring his ankle in England's game with Estonia on Saturday.

The Chelsea left-back had to be stretchered off after going over on his ankle in the second half at Wembley and was replaced at left-back by Joleon Lescott, who looks set to retain his place for the trip to Moscow.

The Sun claims Cole had a scan on Monday which revealed no break but enough ligament and muscle damage to need a 12-week recovery period.
