Chelsea's Cole facing Capello axe

The Daily Mail says Capello has identified a long-ball culture among the England players but is determined to play a passing game and believes they will eventually benefit from a more patient build-up.

The new coach was impressed with the performances of six players: skipper Steven Gerrard, David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas, Gareth Barry, Joe Cole and especially Matthew Upson.

However, he views the full-backs as a problem area.

The international futures of Wes Brown and Ashley Cole are in jeopardy after their lacklustre performances against the Swiss and changes will be made for next month's friendly against France.
