Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole was outstanding today in their 2-0 victory over Inter Milan in Pasadena.
"I feel good, I think we have worked hard so far and a lot of the lads feel fit now," he told chelseafc.com. "We just need to get a bit of sharpness back, but today we played well as a team and showed we can beat the good teams, which hopefully we can do at the start of the season in England."
With Serie A starting later than the Premier League, Chelsea are a few days ahead of Inter in terms of pre-season preparations, and it showed on a warm California evening.
"I think they are a few days behind us in training and we didn't need to get out of second gear tonight," Cole commented. "Hopefully the next couple of games will be tougher and harder but we are still playing against world class players here so we are happy with the result and how it went."
