Chelsea's Cech to carry on in helmet

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has revealed he'll be wearing his protective headgear for the entire season.

He told FourFourTwo magazine: "The doctors have recommended I wear it.

"On the one hand I would be happier if they told me that I didn't have to wear it any more but on the other hand it's not worth taking the risk.

"I don't have any problems with the headgear as I got used to it very quickly. I had some medical checks at the end of the season and the doctors told me everything was okay.

"So the helmet is just to minimise the risk of another injury. I'm going to wear it for the whole of this season then we will see."

Cech has insisted Chelsea will unashamedly sacrifice their FA Cup and Carling Cup to recapture the Premiership and win a first Champions League.

He said: "Our chief executive Peter Kenyon said that we'd go out and try to win all the trophies we are competing for.

"But our priorities are to win back the Premier League title and to win the Champions League."
