Chelsea defender Gary Cahill admits he struggled to make yesterday's FA Cup win over Leicester City after the collapse of close friend Fabrice Muamba.

The ex-Bolton defender, who only joined Chelsea in January, revealed a T-shirt saying, ‘Pray 4 Muamba’ after he opened the scoring in his club’s 5-2 win to reach the FA Cup semi-finals. There was support for Muamba at all four of yesterday’s games.

Cahill said: “My mind was in a different place today, but we went out there and did the job. It was nice to get the goal, but the game was a bit of a blur for me after having seen what happened at White Hart Lane and I just hope he is OK.”

Chelsea stand-in manager Roberto Di Matteo said: “Gary was a bit shaken but had a very good game.”
