Michael Ballack is confident he can play in the same team as Chelsea pal Frank Lampard.

Ballack returned in December following an ankle injury but he has found form quickly. Frank Lampard is close to fitness after five weeks out with a thigh problem and it will be interesting to see how Grant incorporates the two midfielders.

"Good players can always play together and Frank is a good player," said Ballack.

The German will be named in Chelsea's squad for the knockout phase of the Champions League, having been omitted from the list for the group stage because of injury.
