Off contract Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has the full backing of the Germany squad, says Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack.

Coach Joachim Low's decision to name Lehmann as his number one despite his lack of match-practice at Arsenal last season has been questioned by many in Germany, but Ballack is convinced the former Borussia Dortmund star is the best man for the job.

"There is no discussion about him on the team," said Chelsea midfielder Ballack.

"He's had two more matches to gain playing time now. He is very experienced. We trust him and we stick together."
