Chelsea youngster Mount scores in England U19 Euros win

England have defeated Bulgaria 2-0 in their opening match at the U19 European Championships in Georgia.

Chelsea starlet Mason Mount, who recently re-signed with the club until 2021, opened the scoring with barely a minute on the clock.

Fulham fullback Ryan Sessegon, who recently rejected the advances of Liverpool and Tottenham to re-sign with the Cottagers, doubled the Young Lions lead shortly after half time.

Following the win, manager Keith Dowling was optimistic about his teams chances of winning the tournament.

"We have confidence, belief and momentum," he said.

"It's not an arrogance, but there is a strong belief in the group that we can do it.

"It's only a start, we've got two extremely difficult games to come and we've got total respect for both nations in the way they play.

"It's a good solid start, a clean sheet and two goals and now we have to ensure we have the right recovery."

England's next fixture is against the Netherlands on Thursday.
