Chelsea youngster Baker: Linking up with Loftus-Cheek, Chalobah always a big help

Chelsea youngster Lewis Baker says he performed well in the summer's Toulon tournament thanks to his strong understanding with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathaniel Chalobah.

England claimed the Toulon title for the first time in 22 years this summer and Blues midfielder Baker was one of the undoubted stars for the young Three Lions during the tournament.

Along with Baker, fellow Chelsea youngsters Loftus-Cheek and Chalobah also shone in France and now the on-loan Vitesse man has explained that the understanding with his colleagues was crucial to bringing out his best for the Young Lions.

Baker told Chelseafc.com:: "It was a great experience. The team chemistry was very good. We had a very good squad.

"It took all of us to win that competition, the manager rotated it and we had the strength in depth to win it.

"For me personally it was a really good competition, I scored in each game I played in, and to win it in the style we did was great.

"Because I'm out here it's also always really nice to play with some of the Chelsea boys for England, like Ruben and Nathaniel, and that helps."
