Chelsea without Drogba, Kalou and Cole for Birmingham clash
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas will be without Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and Ashley Cole for Saturday’s FA Cup fifth round meeting with Birmingham City.
Drogba and Kalou have only just returned to England from their ill-fated African Cup of Nations tournament with Ivory Coast and won’t be available whilst Cole’s leg injury is likely to force him out.
Captain John Terry is a chance to return from a knee problem but Villas-Boas is wary whilst Ramires is expected to be fit after knee troubles of his own.
"But with such a short distance between the two games we must be careful. If he plays against Birmingham then he may not be able to make the Napoli game so we haven't made a decision yet.
"Kalou will be back in training tomorrow (Friday), Drogba the following day, but on Saturday I will need to decide between Torres and Lukaku.
"Ashley Cole's injury is coming along and he has a chance of making the Napoli game, probably a 50/50 chance, but Ramires is back and ready to play.""John Terry completed his first full training session today for a week,” he told the club’s official website.
