Chelsea winger Florent Malouda was sensationally axed for France's 0-0 draw against World Cup opponents Uruguay yesterday.
Malouda was dropped from France's group opener for being too aggressive in training.
Coach Raymond Domenech left the winger out after he ignored pleas from captain Patrice Evra, the Manchester United defender, to calm down.
Domenech said: "There are 23 players and they are all involved in the tournament.
"A player that I bring onto the pitch 15 minutes before the end is one I bring on because he will contribute something."
Arsenal's Abou Diaby was chosen in front of Malouda, 30 tomorrow, who was a 75th-minute substitute.
