Everton captain Phil Neville says the penalties win over Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup has sparked the Toffees ahead of the business end of the season.
Neville's side came from behind to force Saturday's Stamford Bridge tie into a shootout which was won when the Toffees skipper beat Petr Cech.
Everton are now preparing for this weekend's league clash with Sunderland and the ex-Manchester United defender said life was rosy in the Goodison Park camp.
"It's breathed new life into the club," he said.
"The fans were beginning to lose faith and there was a lot of negativity. The financial reports came out and that added to the negativity.
"Chelsea was probably make or break for us."
