Chelsea willing to match AC Milan price for Romagnoli

Chelsea refuse to give up on their pursuit of AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli.

The Sun says despite Blues boss Antonio Conte bringing David Luiz back to Stamford Bridge for £30million, it seems his shopping for centre-halves is not over.

Milan are holding out for £49million, and despite Chelsea initially refusing to go as high as that, there may be a shift in stance.

Luiz has failed to convince in the few games he has had back at Stamford Bridge. That, coincided with Gary Cahill's loss of form and John Terry's increasing injuries, has prompted the door to be opened once again for Romagnoli.

Chelsea targeted Romagnoli since last spring in anticipation of Conte's arrival but had several bids turned down the last of which was around £35m in late August.
