Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has admitted the club are no longer willing to pay inflated fees, hinting at the reason for the delay in recruiting a new right-back.

"I think we feel there's been a toughening up of negotiations by Chelsea Football Club," Buck told Sky Sports News. "We're not going to over-pay, or under-sell, and that's why these negotiations take time.

"I think we've tried to always look at players and determine what the appropriate price is for that player, and not pay more than that."
