Chelsea will have to pay Atletico Madrid's initial £50million valuation if they want to land Sergio Aguero.

The Blues pursued the Argentinean ace last summer but they were not keen on paying such a hefty price for him.

Recently it seemed Chelsea would be able to take Aguero for a slightly cut-price £40million due to Ateltico's financial crisis but the capital club have asked for the initial fee.

If the Blues want the 21-year old striker, they will need to smash the British transfer record of £32.5million which saw Robinho land at Manchester City in September 2008.
