Chelsea are weighing up a surprise move for Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd.
The Mail on Sunday says Chelsea are surprise contenders to sign £2million-rated Bothroyd from Cardiff.
Cardiff manager Dave Jones accepts that Bothroyd - out of contract this summer - will leave this month and Carlo Ancelotti has joined Birmingham City and West Ham United in showing an interest.
Ancelotti, whose budget has been seriously restricted by Roman Abramovich, feels Bothroyd could cover for Didier Drogba and would represent good value for money.
