Chelsea are demanding £6 million for midfielder Steve Sidwell.
With nine clubs interested - West Ham, Fulham, Everton, Manchester City, Blackburn and the three north east teams as well as Aston Villa - Chelsea are keen to begin a bidding war for Sidwell's services.
