Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard refuses to accept his World Cup place is guaranteed.
Lampard will captain England in tonight's friendly against Chile.
He said: "I'm not silly - especially when you see the young players coming into the squad and pushing me.
"No matter what age you are, you have to react. You have to worry about yourself and perform as well as you can.
"If I walked around thinking my 103 caps would get me on the plane, I'd probably be on the beach because that means you're taking things for granted.
"I'm very determined. He's always said it doesn't matter if you're 17 or 35 going on 36, he'll not look at you any differently. The rest is up to me."
