Chelsea veteran Lampard urges England fans not to panic

Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard has urged England fans not to panic with their World Cup qualification on a knife-edge.

England top Group H with two home qualifiers remaining next month.

Chelsea midfielder Lampard, who won his 100th cap in Kiev, said: "A win would have been better, but a point is a good result. They are a very good team. A team like them with the quality they have got on their wings, you are going to get moments of pressure.

"Playing two games at home and with the way we have been playing there lately, I fancy us to do it.

"We have to believe in ourselves that we can go and do it next month.

"I don't know about the critics - it doesn't matter too much. I think the answer will be after the next two games.

"We will be stronger when the injured players come back because you want to choose from all your fit players. Unfortunately, generally there will always be a couple of injured players at any stage in an England squad of 24 or whatever.

"The team has to react and get results, like we did in Ukraine. We all know how difficult these games are, when you come away in competition football in the group games.

"Of course, we wanted to win the game but you have to dig in sometimes and we did that in the second half, for sure.

"If we go on to qualify, we can look back on it as a very important point, for sure."
