Chelsea are closing in on a January deal for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.
The People says Carlo Ancelotti has told Chelsea's moneymen to make the capture of 6ft 4in Dzeko their main priority to counter the loss of Didier Drogba and Saloman Kalou who are both heading for the African Cup of Nations.
Ancelotti had made Atletico Madrid's Argentine striker Sergio Aguero his January priority - but that deal now looks to be off because Chelsea are unwilling to match the player's £150,000-a-week pay demands.
So Ancelotti has turned his attention to Bosnian star Dzeko, 23, a man he tried to sign when he was boss at AC Milan.
