Chelsea v Wigan linesman dropped for Blackburn v Liverpool match

The linesman from the Chelsea v Wigan Athletic match on the weekend has been dropped for tomorrow night's Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool fixture.

Referee's assistant Dave Bryan allowed play to go on when Branislav Ivanovic netted the Blues' opener in their 2-1 win despite the Serbian defender being clearly offside before Juan Mata scored a late winner even though Salomon Kalou had caused interference with Latics goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi from an offside position.

Both decisions stood, allowing Chelsea to come away with a win which was cruel on Wigan and even crueler now that Bryan has been dropped, indicating that The Professional Game Match Officials Board feel he is guilty of making errors.
